New Passports

Following the completion of integration of online applications and URA with the e-Passport System (IMAGO), the Directorate of Citizenship & Immigration Control has issued the following guidelines to help Ugandan living abroad and the Embassies process online applications. What is required of the Applicant? Navigate to the passport portal:  Click  http://www.passports.go.ug/

Start New Application link to start a new application. Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer. Answer simple security questions. Complete the passport application form. Print the Passport Application Payment Advice Form. Make payment for the selected type of passport using the selected payment method. Schedule an appointment with the nearest Mission/Embassy for face-to-face interviews. 

The Applicant attaches the following documents to the application form and sends them to the Embassy: 
- Passport Interview Record Form and a recommendation letter.
- Copy of Bio data page and File No page (page 45) of the current passport. 
- National Identity Card or NIRA confirmation letter 
- Those without National IDs should attach a copy of the recommender's National ID
- 2 passport photos
- Give your full residential address and Tel. No. 
- Attach a copy of your Residence Permit.
Upon receipt, an interview appointment will be scheduled.

A Passport Interview Record Form and a recommendation letter from the Embassy will be forwarded to the Passport Control Officer, including the original current Passport plus the above mentioned documents.
The Applicant meets the cost of sending the above documents by courier to:

Temporary Travel Document

In case of a lost passport a Temporary Travel Certificate can be obtained from the Embassy. The following is required:
• * Fully filled Forms “A” & “B” (
http://www.ugandaembassyberlin.de, Berlin.mofa.go.ug)                       
(The Embassy signs for LCs and recommends on form A)
2 colored passport size photographs (white background, showing both ears). Do not send wrong photographs as they will be rejected.
• Fee of €30.00 to be paid directly to the below mentioned account and a copy of the bank slip sent to the Embassy:

• Relevant documents obtained in Uganda to verify the applicant’s citizenship claim e.g. Birth Certificate, letter from local council’s office,  school certificates
• Copy of flight reservation to Uganda.
• Copies of documents relating to your stay in Germany.
Note that application fees are non refundable even when your application has been denied, or for any other reason.
